Paul E Hoehne

Paul E Hoehne, 78, Palmyra, Mo., passed away at 11:50 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.

Paul was born Sept. 14, 1943, in Hannibal, Mo., to Walter and Ellen Meyers Hoehne. He was married to Linda Dooley on Nov. 16, 1965, in Palmyra. She survives.

Other survivors include his sons, Grant Hoehne (Lucinda), Griggsville, Ill.; and Stuart Hoehne, Marble Falls, Texas; brother, Wendel Hoehne (Ruth), Palmyra; grandchildren, Dalton Crawford, Lauryn Hoehne, Ryan Hoehne, Sean Hoehne and Camryn Hoehne; amd numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Elizabeth Ann Hoehne; and brother, Raymond Hoehne.

Paul was well known as the owner of Hoehne Carpets which served on Main Street in Palmyra for 34 years. He loved working with wood and restoring floors. 

He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He relished being out in the country. Paul and his wife enjoyed attending flea markets and Old Threshers events together, finding their favorite collectables. 

He raised Texas Longhorn cattle and was a dedicated family man who took great pride in his family and sons. He cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren.

A graveside service will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 28, at Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra. Reverend Scott Salo will officiate.

Family and friends are invited to Paul’s visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday, Oct. 28, at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra.

Memorials may be made to Shiloh Christian Children’s Ranch in Shelbina, Mo.
