The Palmyra Chamber of Commerce wants your nominations for 2021 Citizen of the Year, Educator of the Year and Volunteer of the Year.
To assist you, nominating criteria and guidelines are available at http://showmepalmyra.com/chamber.html. Guidelines are also available in print form at the Palmyra Spectator and City Hall.
Recipients will be announced at the Palmyra Chamber’s Annual Banquet, Jan. 13, 2022.
Send your nominations to the Chamber office at P.O. Box 446, Palmyra, Mo. 63461 or palmyrachamber@gmail.com. The deadline for nominations is Dec. 7 so now is the time to write those letters!
Nominations for Educator of the Year don’t have to be for a teacher but may be for any individual who positively guides youth or trains others.
Due to Covid-19, last year’s awards were given onsite, and the Chamber looks forward to honoring this year’s recipients more formally once again.
The 2020 Annual Awards were presented to John Lewis posthumously for Citizen of the Year, the Palmyra R-1 staff for Educator of the Year and to Bob Stout, Boy Scouts of America, for Volunteer of the Year.
Without you, a deserving candidate may go unrecognized! As in the past, the Palmyra Chamber Board of Directors will select the recipients for the Business Hall of Fame and the Paint Brush Award, the latter for a business that has really improved its looks and added that “something extra” to the community.
