Straus, who went to state all four years, came in with a time of 21:07.8 on the Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia.
Riley Bryan of Smithton took the individual championship with a time of 18:27.6
Also competing at state were Mustangs, Levi Wright and Porter Britt, both freshmen.
Wright recorded a time of 18:20 to finish 40th overall out of 172 runners, while Britt finished 135th in a time of 20:13.3.
