PHS wrestling teams compete at Hallsville, Battle tournaments

The PHS boys wrestling team took ninth place out of 14 teams at the Hallsville Holiday Tournament last Thursday.
The Panthers scored 83.5 points in the event won by Camdenton.
Four Panthers finished in the top five of their respective weight classes including Collin Arch, first place, Brayden Pillars, second, Luke Triplett, third and Jayden Sharrow, fifth.
Arch (138 pounds) won all five of his matches, including three by fall, winning the first-place match by a 6-3 decision over Gavynn Carpenter of Hallsville.
Pillars (132 pounds) went 3-2, losing his second-place match by fall at 2:32 to Marco Dalakishvili of St. Pius X (Kansas City).
Triplett (220 pounds) went 3-2, winning his third-place match by fall at 0:30 over Konnor Watkins of Maysville.
Sharrow (170 pounds) went 3-2 winning his fifth-place match by fall at 3:15 over Benjamin Stephens of Columbia Rock Bridge.
Luke Lawson (105 pounds) went 1-4, losing his fifth place match by a 9-0 major decision to Drake Schiefelbein of Camdenton.
Jose Juarez (195 pounds) went 2-3, winning his seventh place match by fall at 1:07 over Mitchell Otto of Ft. Zumwalt North.
Daylen Stevens (145 pounds) went 0-5, losing his seventh place match to Jack Wicks of Hallsville.
Evan Pennewell (126 pounds) went 1-4, winning his ninth place match by fall at 4:48 over Braden Wiginton of Ft. Zumwalt North.
Ashton Hankins (160 pounds) went 1-4, winning his ninth place match by forfeit.
The Lady Panthers competed in the Wonder Woman Tournament at Battle High School in Columbia Dec. 29.
The Lady Panthers finished 64th in the 77-team event with two wrestlers competing.
Ellyse Lorensen (141 pounds) went 5-2, winning her seventh place match by a 9-5 decision over Taylor Johnson of Lebanon.
Anna Ragar (115 pounds) went 3-2, losing in the consolation round by fall at 5:28 to Kayla Hobdav of Ft. Zumwalt North.
