There will be one Palmyra City Council race to decide during the April 5 General Municipal Election.
With the filing deadline occurring Dec. 28, Joseph J. Hirner had filed to run for city council in Ward 1 where he will face the incumbent, Ellen Goodwin.
There are no races in the other two wards where only the incumbents, Patrick Barnes, Ward 2, and Earl Meyers, Ward 3, had filed.
The Palmyra R-I School District has two candidates filed to run for the two available school board positions, both incumbents, Roth McElvain and Joe Knochel.
Only one candidate, Beau Britt, an incumbent, had filed one of two available positions on the Marion County R-II Board of Education. The other incumbent, Julie Straus, did not file to run again.
