The PHS varsity boys basketball team went 1-1 in conference play last week, downing Brookfield and falling to Macon.

After tying the game at 12 in the second quarter before trailing by four at the half, the Panthers (10-9, 1-2 CCC) were out-scored 15-9 in the third quarter and could not make a comeback against the Tigers.

Bear Bock scored 12 first-half points, but was held to four the rest of the way in contributing a team-high 16 points.

Also scoring for Palmyra were Tyler Banta, nine, Alex Loman, eight, Bronson Juette, four, and Ryan McKeown, two.  

The Panthers began the week with a 58-43 win at Brookfield, Tuesday.

Palmyra jumped out to a 20-11 lead and was winning by 15 at the half.

Loman powered the offense, sinking six three-pointers, including five in the first half, on his way to scoring a team-high 20 points.

Also contributing on offense were Bock, 14, Laydin Lochman, eight, Adam Goodwin, five, Banta, four, Carson Hicks, four, Mason Roberts, two, and Ethan Redd, one.

Palmyra plays two more conference games this week, at Clark County, Tuesday, and at home against South Shelby, Friday.

In between, the Panthers host Kirksville, Wednesday.
