Dorothy E. Morgan
Dorothy E Morgan, 73, Palmyra, Mo., passed away at 8:43 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2022, at her home in Palmyra.

Dorothy E. Morgan
Dorothy was born Feb. 1, 1949, in Davisville, Mo., to Jessie Elbert and Dorothy Evelyn Evens Metcalf. She was married to Charles Elmer Morgan on May 20, 1983 and were married for over 40 years. He preceded her in death on Aug. 29, 2021.
Survivors include her six children, Darren Morgan, Allen Morgan, Lonette Morgan, Ricky Morgan, Delaina Tinker (Jeff) and Vanessa Morgan-Cashman (Matthew); 12 grandchildren, Kim Gooding (Chance), Chelsi, Cacia and Cason Morgan, Dillon Cowder (Alex), Kalin Morgan (Andrea), Kadin Morgan, Zayne and Lydia Tinker, Kohleigh Abell, Ryder and Rhett Cashman; sister in-law, Pam Metcalf; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and brother, Darrell Metcalf.
Dorothy worked as a furniture upholsterer and, alongside her husband, Charlie, as a siding contractor for nearly 40 years. She also worked on the side as a seamstress, and for many years as a childcare provider at both Humpty Dumpty Daycare and in her home.
As the matriarch of a very large family, Dorothy was the one to bring them all together for fun times and much-loved memories.
She was always thrilled to travel, wherever the roads would take them, some of her fondest memories were of the yearly family trips to Davisville-Pucky Huddle, Mo. for cherished family reunions. She loved music and dancing and could often be found dancing it up on the dance floor. Her family was her passion, and she poured her heart into everything she did for them.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra. The family will be planning a memorial service for a later date.
Memorials may be made to the family for grandchildren’s education fund or the National Spina Bifida Society.
