The PHS girls track and field team dominated for a first-place finish at the Brookfield Gary Ewing Invitational meet Friday.
The Lady Panthers scored 134 points to easily out-pace second-place Clark County by 37 points and also top 20 other schools.
“We had a really good day with great performances all around,” said Coach Macy Bross, whose team collected five first place finishes and had multiple scorers in four events.
Scoring points for the Lady Panthers were:
Laurin Sheputis, first place in the 800 meters at 2:32.83;
Abbey Redd, first place in the pole vault at 2.75 meters;
the first-place 4 x 100 meter relay team of Redd, Mallory Sublette, Bella McBride and Jansen Juette at 53.98;
the first place 4 x 200 meter relay team of Redd, Alaina Loman, McBride and Taytum White at 1:54.18;
the first place 4 x 400 meter relay team of Sheputis, Loman, Jaynee Durst and White at 4:31.90;
Candra King, second place in the discus at 36.07 meters and second place in the shot put at 11.69 meters;
Loman, second place in the pole vault at 2.75 meters;
the second place 4 x 800 meter relay team of Jeorgia O’Brien, Sublette, Loman and Sheputis at 11:07.44;
Tenlee Voss, third place in the 100 meter hurdles at 17.77; third place in the 300 meter hurdles at 53.98;
Juette, third place in the 100 meters at 12.95; fourth place in the triple jump at 10.2 meters; and fifth place in the 200 meters at 27.44;
O’Brien, third place in the 1,600 meters at 6:23.31 and fourth place in the 3,200 meters at 12:34.76;
White, third place in the 200 meters at 27.12;
Chloe Hicks, fifth place in the high jump at at 1.45 meters;
Sublette, seventh place in the triple jump at 9.95 meters; and
Emma Krigbaum, seventh place in the 100 meters at 19.38.
The Lady Panthers took second place at the Montgomery County Invitational meet, Tuesday.
Palmyra scored 131 points to finish behind only Centrala, 175, but ahead of 14 other teams.
Scoring points for the Palmyra were:
King, first place in the discus at 123 feet, two inches and second place in the shot put at 32 feet, 6.5 inches;
Juette, first place in the triple jump at 33 feet, 10.25 inches and third place in the 100 meters at 13.35;
Redd, first place in the pole vault at 10 feet, 2 inches;
the first place 4 x 100 meter relay team of Redd, Sublette, McBride and Juette, at 53.68;
Sydney Compton, second place in the 100 meter hurdles at 17.39 and third place in the 400 meters at 1:06.68;
Sheputis, second place in the 800 meters at 2:33.45;
the second place 4 x 400 meter relay team of Sheputis, Loman, Compton and White at 4:24.19;
the second place 4 x 800 meter relay team of O’Brien, Aly Noland, Loman and Sheputis at 10:34.39;
White, third place in the 200 meter hurdles at 28.22 and seventh place in the long jump at 15 feet;
the third place 4 x 200 meter relay team of Redd, Sublette, Compton and White at 1:55.20;
Voss, fourth place in the 100 meter hurdles at 17.68 and sixth place in the 300 meter hurdles at 53.36;
O’Brien, fourth place in the 3200 meters at 13:04.25;
Durst, sixth place in the javelin at 89 feet, 3 inches and eighth place in the 400 meters at 1:12.34;
Sublette, sixth place in the triple jump at 32 feet;
McBride, sixth place in the 100 meters at 13.50; and
Noland, seventh place in the 1600 meters at 6:17.56.
