The PHS boys track and field team took sixth place out of 14 teams at the Mark Twain Relays in Hannibal Saturday.

Palmyra’s Connor Bross runs the third leg of the 4 x 800 meter relay during the Mark Twain Relays in Hannibal Friday.
The Panthers scored 39 points to finish behind Ft. Zumwalt North, 104, Bowling Green, 94, Hannibal, 87, Kirksville, 66, and Quincy High School, 66, but ahead of Liberty (Ill.), 34, Ft. Zumwalt South, 25, Rushville (Ill.), 24, Mark Twain, 18, Jacksonville (Ill.) 15, Carthage (Ill.), 10, South Shelby, nine, and Pittsville, eight.
Scoring points for the Panthers were:
Hayes Miller, first place in the 400 meters at 50.77; third place in the 100 meters at 11.28; and third place in the 200 meters at 22.57;
Evan Pennewell, second place in the pole vault at 11 feet, 11.75 inches;
Carson Hicks, second place in the high jump at five feet, 7.5 inches; and
the sixth place 4 x 400 meter relay team of Miller, Marty Smyser, Daniel Dames and Gideon Bogue at 3:39.11.
