PHS boys golfers take fourth in CCC tourney

The PHS boys golf team placed fourth at the Clarence Cannon Conference Tournament at Norwoods in Hannibal last Wednesday.
The Panthers shot a 385 to finish 30 strokes behind first-place South Shelby and also trailed Centralia, 362, and Macon, 375, but ahead of Monroe City, 396, Highland, 406, Clark County, 437, and Brookfield, 483.
Laydin Lochman led the Panthers with a 91, which was eighth best overall, and earning him second team all-conference honors.
Jonas Sprinkle shot a 96 and Dreighton Sprinkle a 97, which earned them honorable mention all-conference honors.
South Shelby’s Casen Glover led all golfers with a 77. Also earning first team honors were his teammate, Jaaron Durban, 84, Macon’s Dalton Cashatt, 85, Highland’s Kyle Benson, 87, and Centralia’s Cullen Bennett, 88.
Also earning second team, all-CCC honors were Monroe City’s Kyle Hays, 89, Centralia’s Austin Mechlin, 90, Macon’s Tysen Wilson, 92, and Centralia’s Carter Moss, and Noah Brooks, both at 92.
Also making honorable mention were South Shelby’s Dax Durbin, 95, Monroe City’s Everett Pangnborn, 97, Macon’s Britton Wineingar, 97, Centralia’s Josh Bowne, 97, and South Shelby’s Elijah Kline, 99.
On Monday, Palmyra played in the Class 2, District 2 Tournament held at Hannibal’s Norwoods course.
However results were unavailable for this issue.
Also competing were Belle, Bowling Green, Centralia, Clark County, Duchesne, Fatima, Hermann, Highland, Lutheran St. Charles, Missouri Military Academy, Montgomery County, North Callaway, South Callaway and South Shelby.
