The PHS girls track and field team took second place at the Clarence Cannon Conference meet at Ewing last Tuesday.
The Lady Panthers scored 149 points to finish behind only Centralia, 186.5, but ahead of Clark County, 111, Macon, 80, Monroe City, 67.50, Brookfield, 53, South Shelby, 49, and Highland, 41.
Scoring points for Palmyra were:
the first place 4 x 100 meter relay team of Abbey Redd, Mallory Sublette, Bella McBride and Jansen Juette at 53.11;
Sydney Compton, second place in the 400 meters at 1:04.82; second place in the 400 meters at 1:04.82; third place in the 100 meter hurdles at 17.17;
Juette, second place in the 100 meters at 13.16 and second place in the triple jump at 32 feet, 10.5 inches;
Tenlee Voss, second place in the 300 meter hurdles at 51.05; fourth place in the 100 meter hurdles at 17.37; eighth place in the long jump at 4.47 meters;
Chloe Hicks, second place in the high jump at 1.48 meters;
Redd, second place in the pole vault at 3.09 meters;
the second place 4 x 200 meter relay team of Redd, Compton, Juette and Taytum White at 1:50.72;
the second place 4 x 800 meter relay team of Jeorgia O’Brien, Alyssa Noland, Alaina Loman and Laurin Sheputis at 10:38.75;
Candra King, third place in the discus at 33.1 meters; third place in the shot put at 10.93 meters;
Sheputis, third place in the 800 meters at 2:31.33;
Sublette, third place in the triple jump at 32 feet, 7.25 inches;
the third place 4 x 400 meter relay team of Sheputis, Compton, Loman and White at 4:19.38;
O’Brien, fourth place in the 1,600 meters at 6:04.30 and fourth place in the 3,200 meters at 13:57.01;
Loman, fourth place in the pole vault at 2.65 meters;
White, fifth place in the 200 meters at 28.27;
Noland, fifth place in the 1,600 meters at 6:17.28;
Jaynee Durst, fifth place in the javelin at 30.52 meters; and
McBride, sixth place in the 200 meters at 28.16; seventh place in the 100 meters at 13.49.
The Lady Panthers now prepare to compete at the Class 3, District meet at Montgomery County Saturday, May 14, along with Boonville, Bowling Green, California, Centralia, Father Tolton Regional Catholic, Hallsville, Hermann, Macon, Montgomery County, North Callaway and Southern Boone.
