William E. Johnson, 94, Silvis, formerly of Hannibal, Mo., passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022, at Hope Creek Care Center.
William E. Johnson
Ellis was born on Jan. 28, 1928, in Palmyra, Mo., the son of Arvil and Ruby Kelly Johnson. He married Ella Jayne Bingham on May 5, 1951, in Hannibal. She preceded him in death on July 9, 2009.
Ellis was employed as a supervisor at the John Deere Foundry retiring in 1982. He loved working outside and was very proud of his yard.
Ellis enjoyed camping and attending blue grass festivals; but most important was spending time with his family.
He is survived by his sons, Ronald (Eva) Johnson and Roger Johnson; grandchildren, Amber, Travis, Matt, Leah, Charlotte, Jacob, Megan, Kayla, Jenna, Bryan and Alexis; 13 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Walter Johnson, Dwayne (Shirley) Johnson and Roger (Ina) Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; son, Jacky; daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Johnson; brothers; sisters and his in-laws.
Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of his life will take place at a later date. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, Ill., is assisting the family.
