Fishing For Freedom – Quincy, a no-entry-fee bass, catfish, and crappie tournament that pairs active military and veterans with professional anglers, avid tournament fishermen, fishing guides and local outdoorsmen for a fun day of fishing, will take place June 3-5.
It includes events ranging from a fish fry, trapshooting, archery, live music, a Heroes Banquet and a day of fun tournament fishing on the Mighty Mississippi River or Mark Twain Lake.
This year, the public has the opportunity to honor veterans by lining Main Street in Palmyra Sunday, June 5, when the warriors and boaters parade through at about 1:30 p.m.
Northeast Power employees will hand out small flags along the Palmyra parade route, and trucks will be up on the Mo. 168 overpass crossing over U.S. 61 with flags hung from them.
To learn a little more about the event, watch the video on Fishing For Freedom’s website: www.FishingForFreedomQuincy.org.
Event sponsors include Rebel Pig, Holts Lawn Care, Nemo Pest Control and B Creative Nutrition.
