Six PHS boys track and field athletes qualified to advance in seven events to sectionals following their performances during the Class 3, District 4 meet in Montgomery City Saturday.

In addition, the Panthers took sixth place out of 12 teams.
The sectional qualifiers will compete to qualify for state during the Class 3, Sectional 2 meet also being hosted by Montgomery County, Saturday.
The state meet will be held at Jefferson City High School’s Adkins Stadium May 27-28.
Qualifying for sectionals were:
Hayes Miller, first place in the 100 meters at 11.27; first place in the 200 meters at 23.13; first place in the 400 meters at 50.82;
Gideon Bogue, third place in the 100 meters at 11.63;
Evan Pennewell, third place in the pole vault at 3.44 meters;
the third-place 4 x 400 meter relay team of Bogue, Daniel Dames, Marty Smyser and Miller at 3:37.80; and
Jose Juarez, fourth place in the shot put at 13.07 meters.
Palmyra’s 4 x 800 meter relay team of Caleb Juette, Dakota Snyder, Carson Hicks and Parker Bier just missed qualifying with a fifth place finish at 9:08.81.
The Panthers scored 63 points to finish behind Bowling Green, 113, Montgomery County, 127, Centralia, 89.5, Boonville, 75.5, and Southern Boone, 69, but ahead of Father Tolton Regional Catholic, 53, Macon, 43, Hermann, 26, Hallsville, 25, North Callaway, 25, and California, 13.
