The Palmyra Chamber of Commerce is hosting the Palmyra Flag Day Parade Saturday, June 11.
The parade will begin at 10 a.m. at the Palmyra High School and go north on Main Street to the Marion County Courthouse.
There is no need to register and no fee. Line up will be at the Palmyra High School south parking lot and entrants are asked to be there by 9:45 a.m. at the latest.
Lester Boettcher will serve as grand marshal.
After the parade there will be a special flag-raising and flag folding ceremony at the courthouse led by the American Legion and local Boy Scouts troops.
There will also be special music provided by the Zion Lutheran Church choir.
“We hope that your business, organization, church, club, family and friends will participate,” said Nancy Goellner, one of the event organizers. “Have fun with it and, of course, fly Old Glory on your vehicle.”
