Everett “E.H.” Dooley, 65, Palmyra, Mo., passed away at 11:04 a.m., Tuesday, June 14, 2022, in Monroe County, Mo.

E.H. was born May 8, 1957, in Hannibal, Mo., to Henry W. and Cleo E. (Hess) Dooley. He attended St. Joseph Catholic School and was a 1975 graduate of Palmyra High School.

Survivors include his sisters, Linda Hoehne and Liza Summers (Mike); nieces and nephews, Grant Hoehne (Lucinda), Stuart Hoehne, Jared Summers (Amber), Berkley Rosenquist (Robby), Ian Summers and Marin DeBauch (Andy), and his 13 great-nieces and great-nephews.

E.H. was preceded in death by his parents; his brother-in-law, Paul Hoehne; and his grandparents, E.H. and Blanche Dooley, Paris, Mo., and Edward and Nellie Hess, Palmyra.

E.H. developed his love of the great outdoors by spending summers on his grandparents’ farm in Monroe County. In his early 20s, E.H. worked as a hunting guide in Montana. 

After several years of adventure, he returned home to Palmyra and began his career at Northeast Power as a dispatcher and grid operator. He worked diligently for 25 years, until his retirement in 2013.  

E.H. was a well-known supporter of conservation efforts and very much enjoyed time spent with his friends hunting and fishing. 

Friends and family are invited to a visitation that will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., on Wednesday, June 29, at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 30, at the Stoutsville Cemetery in Stoutsville, Mo. Deacon Luke Mahsman will officiate.
