Marcia was a housewife and homemaker for most of her life. She also worked in the factory at Charles Industries in Canton, Mo for 27 1/2 years.

Marcia was an avid vegetable gardener. Her large garden boasted green beans, cucumbers and corn, from which she canned about 400 helpings per year. She also made the best potato soup, blackberry and crabapple jellies, and apple pies; she typically made about 40 pies per year!

Marcia loved the country hits of Elvis Presley, so it is no surprise that she loved to visit Graceland’s home of Memphis, Tenn., as well as Music City itself, Nashville.

Romance novels by Debbie Macomber, Days of Our Lives, the Chicago Cubs, Good & Plenty candy, and her loving pug, Rico, all held a special place in her heart.

However, nothing held a larger place in Marcia’s heart than her family. She especially loved watching her grandchildren play sports, and you could always hear her in the stands by her loud whistle! Marcia will be remembered for her funny sayings, her yummy cooking and the way she cared for her family.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 6, at the O’Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home in Quincy. Pastor Mark Madigan will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery in Quincy.

Pallbearers will be Alex Hultz, Jeremy Hultz, Wade Hultz, Josh Hultz, Kyle Zanger and Tyler Damron.

Honorary pallbearers will be Leah Hultz, Jessalyn Hultz-Damron and Katlyn Zanger.

Friends and family are invited to Marcia’s life celebration at a visitation that will be Friday, Aug. 5, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the O’Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home.
