The annual Philly Fun Fest will be held Saturday, Aug. 20, in Philadelphia.
The Philadelphia Community Center will host the traditional parade, followed by a community party.
The parade will start at the east end of town at 10 a.m. and make its way through down town and ending at the school, where there will be a free barbecue and other activities.
Carl Smith is bringing his famous barrel train as well as a new ride.
The reigning Philly Fun Fest Little Mister, Logan Stephens, and Little Miss, Ella Moorman, will ride in the parade.
There will also be a pedal tractor pull sponsored by the North River Old Iron Club.
Parade participants are welcome and can register for free by calling Mabel Coon at 217-440-7719. Those participating will need to be at the Marion County Water Supply office by 9:30 a.m. to line-up for the parade.
This year’s rain date is Saturday, Aug. 27. To check for cancellations, call Coon at the number above.
