The PHS boys and girls cross country teams hosted the Palmyra Invitational meet Saturday morning in Flower City Park.
The Panthers finished fifth out of six teams. Meanwhile, The Lady Panthers did not qualify a team score, but two of their runners finished in the top five.

Alyssa Noland took second place with a time of 22:47.87, finishing behind only Hannibal’s Jocelyn Dorsey, 22:13.37.
Palmyra’s Maiya Reese finished fourth with a time of 23:27.81.
Also competing for Palmyra was Tiffany Neff, 38th place, 29:45.34.
Hannibal won the meet with a score of 43, followed by Kirksville, 57, Clark County, 71, Monroe City, 71, and Mark Twain, 93.
The Panthers scored 105 points to finish behind Hannibal, 22, Marion County, 71, Kirksville, 86, and Mark Twain, 105, but ahead of Highland, 131.
Connor Bross finished 15th out of 69 runners with a time of 20:42.74.

Also competing were: Jacob Barnes, 24th place, 21:17.12; Carter Harper, 33rd place, 22:36.49; Wesley Summers, 44th place,
24:11.57; and Ashton Lovegreen, 48th place, 24:44.81.
Palmyra opened the season at the Mexico Invitational, along with teams from Mexico, Centralia, Macon, Monroe City, Hannbal, Mark Twain, North Callaway, Missouri Military Academy and Salisbury.
The Palmyra boys finished ninth, while the girls did not qualify a team score.
Alyssa Noland was the top Palmyra girl, finishing seventh out of 70 runners with a time of 23:06.99.
Also competing were Maiya Reese, 15th place, 23:50.19; Tiffany Neff, 51st place, 29:46.47; and Lillian Cramlet, 58th place, 31:03.40.
Centralia’s Jozelynn Bostick won with a time of 21:10.46.
Connor Bross was the top boys runner, finishing 19th out of 86 competitors with a time of 19:22.02.
Also competing were Carter Harper, 51st place, 22:33.06; Wesley Summers, 66th place, 24:47.39; Ashton Lovegreen, 68th place, 24:59.78; and Owan Mason Kiefaber, 72nd place, 25:25.27.
Bowling Green’s Ben Chance won with a time of 16:42.82.
