The Marion County R-II girls basketball team fell out of the Monroe City Tournament following losses to Palmyra and Highland last week.
The seventh-seeded Lady Mustangs (1-5) saw their tournament run end with a 51-33 loss to sixth-seeded Louisiana in the consolation semifinals.
The Lady Bulldogs held Marion County to 10 first-half points in getting out to a 15-point lead by the break.
Scoring for Marion County were Alyssa Lee, 12, Kennedy Hathaway, seven, Sam Kindhart, four, Riley Holt, three, Maya Bock, two, Aylah Pollard, two, Grace Jensen-Page, two, and Shayleigh Whetstone, one.
The Lady Mustangs opened the tournament with a 75-25 loss to second-seeded Palmyra, Tuesday.
Scoring for Marion County were Hathaway, nine, Holt, eight, Kindhart, three, Jensen-Page, two, Pollard, two, and Bock, one.
This week, the Lady Mustangs were scheduled to host Green City, Thursday, before traveling to Scotland County the next day.
They then end 2022 by traveling to LaPlata, Dec. 19.
