The Marion County R-II boys basketball team completed 2022 with a 45-37 win at LaPlata last Monday.
The Mustangs (4-5) got out to a 10-4 lead with Porter Britt contributing two field goals, Joey Lagemann a three pointer and Wyatt Ragar a field goal and free throw.
Lagemann continued his hot shooting with three treys in the second quarter to help Marion County take a 19-11 lead into half time.
Jackson Stewart, Root Cheney and Caden Stotts got their shooting hands going in the second half with Stewart sinking three treys, Cheney, two, and Stotts one in helping Marion County match LaPlata’s 26 points after the break.
Scoring for Marion County were Lagemann, 14, Stewart, nine, Cheney, eight, Britt, six, Goldinger, five, and Stotts, three.
The Mustsangs resume their season Tuesday, Jan. 3, at home against Brashear. They then travel to Novinger Jan. 6.
