Emmett G “Bud” Bremmer
Emmett G “Bud” Bremmer, 81, Palmyra, Mo., passed away at 3:44 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023, at his home in Palmyra.
Bud was born Feb. 27, 1941, in Palmyra, to Emmett G. and Mabel I. Begley Bremmer. He was married to Carolyn Sue Potterfield on Dec. 31, 1959, in Palmyra.

Survivors include his wife of 63 wonderful years, Carolyn Sue Bremmer, Palmyra; his children, Wendy Nelson and Quentin Bremmer (Tena); brother, Dennis Bremmer (Cheree); sisters, Delores Drebes (Walter) and Joyce Buckwalter (Warren); grandchildren, Brandy Schneider (Kyle), Christopher Bremmer, Amy Nelson (Ryan Rosenthal), Tyia Switzer (Howard) and Michael Robbins (Kali); great-grandchildren Elijah Schneider, Liam Schneider, Ivy Yakes, Brenden Switzer, Karmen Switzer, Silas Switzer and Sophie Robbins; nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents.
Bud was an well known in this town, born and raised in Palmyra, spending his whole life in the service industry, 50 of those years, as the owner and operator of Bremmer Plumbing and Heating.
Throughout his years taking care of the residents and friends in Palmyra, Bud worked on most of the homes and business here. He was a handyman extraordinaire, fixing just about anything- often with just his handy pocketknife.
Bud liked to keep busy. As one of the original members of the Hardee’s Coffee Club, he loved joining his friends for a hot cup of strong black coffee to start the day. Bud had a bit of a sweet tooth, savoring his favorite doughnuts when he could.
Bud understood the importance of relationships. He was generous and caring with a huge heart for helping others.
He enjoyed fishing and boating with family and friends, playing four-point pitch, pitching horseshoes, and going to his “ranch” to see his beloved animals. A family man, with a heart of gold, Bud cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren.
A man of strong Christian faith, Bud was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Palmyra. He loved the Lord and lived his Christian values every day.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 17, at the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra. Rev. Allen Clark will officiate. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Schneider, Ryan Rosenthal, Chris Bremmer, Lyndell Dunn, Elijah Schneider, Amy Nelson, Brandy Schneider and Donnie Vance.
Honorary pallbearers are the original infamous Hardee’s Coffee Club guys.
Friends and family are invited to Bud’s Life Celebration visitation that will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service, Jan. 17, at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel.
Memorials may be made to Community Loving Care Hospice.
