The PHS varsity girls basketball team drew to within one victory of a 20-win season with wins over Monroe City and Bowling Green last week.
The Lady Panthers went 19-5 with a convincing 67-51 victory at Bowling Green, Thursday.

Palmyra’s Taytum White is fouled during action against Monroe City last Tuesday.
Palmyra lead by four after the first quarter, but broke the game open with a 19-8 run that put them up 36-21 at the half.
They then added seven points to their lead in the third quarter to seal the deal.
The Lady Panthers were not particularly sharp shooters, hitting 26 of 68 field goals, including two of 19 from outside the arc, and 13 of 23 from the line.
Sydney Compton led the team, hitting 12 of 20 field goals and leading all scorers with 29 points, to go along with six rebounds, five steals and a blocked shot.
Clare Williams was six of 12 from the floor and scored 17 points, along with five steals, a blocked shot and two rebounds.
Ashley Bode started in the absence of Candra King at post, and scored 11 points while grabbing nine rebounds.
Also scoring were Taytum White, five, Alaina Loman, four, and Abbey Redd, one.
The Lady Panthers went to 5-1 in Clarence Cannon Conference play with a 59-34 home win over Monroe City, during Senior Night, Tuesday.
Palmyra got out to a 23-9 start, but held off a Monroe City second quarter run before taking charge of the game in the second half.
Three starters scored in double figures, including King, 18, Compton, 13, and White, 11.
Also scoring were Redd, six, Williams, six, Bode, three, and Jaelyn Chandler, two.
The Lady Panthers finish regular season play this week at home against Hannibal, Tuesday, and at Highland, Friday.
The Class 3, District 6 Tournament at Monroe City will follow the next week.
