Nice weather allowed the PHS boys varsity golf team to be busy last week, playing in three different events.
The Panthers placed third out of eight teams at their own invitational tournament Wednesday at the Jackson Park Golf Course.

Palmyra shot a 345 to finish behind South Shelby, 324, and Canton, 336, but ahead of Monroe City, 360, Van Far, 376, Highland, 383, Louisiana, 412, and Clark County, 415.
Skeeter Kroeger led the team with an 83 and was followed by Jonas Janes, 84, Preston Fuget, 89, and Abram Smyser, 89. Jeremiah Edwards’ 96 was dropped.
Canton’s Trevor Biggerstaff earned medalist honors with a 73, with South Shelby’s Cason Glover the runner-up with a 75.
South Shelby also won a triangular at Palmyra the day before, shooting a 157 to best Palmyra, 171, and Clark County, 205.
Scoring for Palmyra were Janes, 41, Fuget, 42, Kroeger, 43, and Brett Tuter, 45. Edwards’ 46 was dropped.
In junior varsity action, Palmyra topped South Shelby, 177 to 189.
Palmyra’s Tate Hammond took medalist honors with a 42, while Smyser and Tony White were runners-up at 43.

The PHS golf team honored its lone senior, Brett Tutor, prior to Tuesday’s triangular Tuesday.
Also playing for Palmrya were Kyle Jackson, 47, Abram Getz, 49, and Shawn Hirner, 55.
Palmyra also lost by two strokes, 170-172, at Centralia, April 6.
Janes earned runner-up medalist honors with a 40, one stroke behind Centralia’s Cullen Bennett and Travis Brooks.
Also scoring for Palmyra were Aaron Ritchey, 42, Kroeger, 45, and White, 45. Fuget’s 45 was dropped.
In JV action, Palmyra beat Centralia, 195 to 201.
Edwards was runner-up medalist with a 46, a stroke behind Centralis’ Drew Korb.
Also playing for Palmyra were Tuter, 49, Hammond, 50, Getz, 50, Smyser, 51, Jackson, 52, and Hirner, 54.
The junior varsity also hosted a tournament, Monday, and came out on top with a 335 to beat out South Shelby 1, 339, Canton, 356, Centralia 1, 367, Monroe City, 381, South Shelby 2, 396, Van Far, 435, Centralia 2, 443, Highland, 448. and Scotland County, 457.
Centralia’s Luke Sachs beat out Smyser for medalist honors in a playoff after both carded 80s.
Also playing for Palmyra were Hammond, 84, White, 85, Getz, 86, Tuter, 91, Jackson, 96, and Hirner, 105.
The Panthers also competed at the Hannibal Invitational Friday, but results were not made available in time for this issue.
