The PHS girls track and field team competed in two meets last week, winning one and placing fourth in a competitive field at another.
The Lady Panthers took first place out of 13 teams at the Gerald Mansfield Relays hosted by Macon.

Palmyra won four events and scored 113 points, 12.5 ahead of the closest competitor, Moberly.
Scoring points for Palmyra were:
Candra King, first place in the shot put at 12.81 meters and second place in the discus at 37.22 meters;
Alaina Loman, first place in the pole vault at 2.90 meters;
Haley Kroeger, first place in the javelin at 12.16 meters;
the first place 4 x 100 meter relay team of Tenlee Voss, Alaina Loman, Bella McBride and Taytum White at 52.71;
Tenlee Voss, second place in the 100 meter hurdles at 16.76 and fourth place in the 300 meter hurdles at 49.99;
Taytum White, second place in the 200 meters at 27.25;
Chloe Hicks, second place in the high jump at 1.52 meters;
the second place 4 x 200 meter relay team of Voss, McBride, Loman and White at 1:51.45;
Laurin Sheputis, third place in the 800 meters at 2:35.24;
Mallory Sublette, fourth place in the 1600 meters at 6:06.63;
McBride, fourth place in the 100 meters at 13.54;
the fourth place 4 x 400 meter relay team of White, Sublette, Loman and Sheputis at 4:25.00;

the sixth place 4 x 800 meter relay team of Sublette, Sandra Leon, Janie Triplett and Sheputis at 11:07.15;
Triplett, seventh place in the high jump at 1.37 meters; and
Sarah Kliewer, seventh place in the discus at 27.56 meters;
Also competing at the meet were Kirksville, 88 points, Brookfield, 77, South Shelby, 66.5; Schuyler County, 56, Monroe City, 44, Salisbury, 39, Westran, 35, Marceline, 18, Paris, 16, and Father Tolton Regional Catholic, 10.

Palmyra scored 68 points to finish behind only Hannibal (160), Quincy High School (89)and Ft. Zumwalt South (76), but ahead of Kirksville (59), Bowling Green (36), Mark Twain (20, Liberty (Ill.) (20), Pittsfield (Ill.) (16), Carthage (Ill.) (14), Rushville (Ill.) (13) and Jacksonville (Ill.) (10).
Placing in the top 10 for Palmyra were:
King, first place in the shot put at 12.36 meters;
Hicks, first place in the high jump at 1.57 meters;
Loman, first place in the pole vault at 2.88 meters;
the second place 4 x 100 meter relay team of Voss, Loman, McBride and White at 52.77;
the second place 4 x 200 meter relay team of McBride, Sydney Compton, Loman and White at 1:51.46;
White, third place in the 200 meters at 27.50;
Voss, third place in the 100 meter hurdles at 16.58;
Hailey Kroeger, fourth place in the javelin at 31.07 meters;
Sheputis, fourth place in the 800 meters at 2:32.69; and
McBride, seventh place in the 100 meters at 13.45;
