Motorists will need to find alternate routes around the intersection of W. Main Cross and Bradley streets starting next week and on into October.
Construction of new bridges west and north of the intersection is expected to begin Monday, weather permitting.
The projected completion day of the bridges being done by Bleigh Construction Company is Oct. 12.
This area will be closed to traffic.
Bleigh Construction was awarded the project in March and after a pre-construction meeting on April 21 are ready to proceed.
The City of Palmyra received a $500,000 Community Development Block Grant for this project.
The grant was awarded to Palmyra because of the efforts of a random selection of residents completing a survey concerning low to moderate income.
Palmyra elected officials gave credit to citizens for participating in the survey process, and now ask for patience as a main road through town will be closed during the summer months.
