Area residents willing to travel a little can see a variety of fireworks displays to celebrate the Independence Day holiday time.
Starting closer to home, the Palmyra community fireworks display will be held Monday, July 3, at Flower City Park.
The fireworks, sponsored by the Palmyra Chamber of Commerce, will start at dusk.
And, there are several other displays offered in the area.
Hannibal’s fireworks display will be the climactic event to end the community’s week long National Tom Sawyer Days celebration that started June 24 and runs through Tuesday, July 4.
The fireworks display will be held at dusk July 4.
The Mark Twain Lake fireworks display at the Clarence Cannon Dam will be held Sunday, July 2 at 9:30 p.m.
Quincy, Ill., riverfront fireworks display will also be held Tuesday, July 4, at dusk to climax the city’s two day Quincy Freedom Fest, July 3-4.
