Monte Burch’s property on Route E sustained considerable damage in a possible tornado early Saturday between 1:30 and 2 a.m. According to Zach Burch, a 1,000 foot wide swath of between three-quarters to a mile long, cut through the property, damaging 40 acres of corn as well as a tractor, garage, augers and a shed, which had a wind rating of 150 mph. The house did not receive damage, and Burch said his property about a mile away was also not damaged. The National Weather Service has been notified to see if it was a tornado, but Burch said they are still waiting to hear back from them.
