Taryn L. Marquardt, 33, Palmyra, Mo., passed away at 2:51 p.m., Friday, Aug.11, 2023, at her home in Palmyra.
Taryn was born Aug. 14, 1989, in Hannibal, Mo. to Jim L. “Sarge” and Teresa Layne Snell Marquardt.

Survivors include her mother, Teresa Layne Marquardt; grandmother, Lucille (Granny) Clark; brothers, Troy Shade (Abbey), Palmyra; Travis Shade (Kayla), Palmyra; and Trey Marquardt (Denise), Palmyra; sisters, Jamie Chaney (Kevin), Olathe, Kan.; and Julie Yeoman (Bob), Phoenix, Ariz.; aunts and uncles, Jeannie Shade, Palmyra; Marcia Huber (Matt), Palmyra; and Robbie (Tammy) Snell, Fort Myers, Fla.; nieces and nephews, Cole, Chloe, Summer, Lillian, Jackson, Camille, Julia, August, Shannon, Chaney, Sara, Heather and Samantha; great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jim L. “Sarge” Marquardt; brother, James “Little Jim” Marquardt; and grandparents, Robert E. Snell Jr., and Glen “Tommy” and Maxine Marquardt.
Taryn was a kindhearted and giving person who loved to spend time with her nieces and nephews.
Professionally Taryn formerly worked as a CNA at Maple Lawn, caring for others.
She had a great sense of humor and liked to pull jokes on friends and family and would do anything for anyone. She looked forward to Christmas with family and friends every year.
Taryn was a daddy’s girl who loved her dad’s spaghetti, mom’s chili, and chicken and noodles even making them herself from time to time. She loved her fur babies, a Cha-weenie named Buster and her Pug Harvey.
In her free time, she liked to scroll through Tik Tok and catch up on her favorite shows Greys Anatomy, Chicago Fire, Below Deck, and I Love Lucy.
Taryn will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was a Christian by faith.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 16, at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel. Pastor Mark Carpenter will officiate. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra.
Pallbearers will be Troy Shade, Travis Shade, Trey Marquardt, Ryan Shade, Tim Compton and Alex Huber.
Memorials may be made to First Christian Church of Palmyra.
