PHS boys CC team takes seventh at Quincy

The PHS boys cross country team finished seventh out of 10 teams at the 49th annual Tom Oakley Invitational meet hosted by Quincy (Ill,) High School Saturday.
The Panthers scored 182 points to finish behind: QHS, 30, Burlington (Iowa), 81: Quincy Notre Dame, 115, Liberty, Ill., 124; Hamilton West Hancock, Ill., 156; and Clark County, 157; but ahead of: Marion County, 184; Carthage, Ill., 205; and Hannibal Area Home Educators, 217.
Jacob Barnes led Palmyra with an 18th place finish out of 88 runners in a time of 19.02.93.
Also competing for Palmyra were: Carter Harper, 29th place, 19:51.90; Wesley Summers, 42nd place, 20:54.50; Landon Jurado, 68th place, 23:35.81; Ashton Lovegreen, 70th place, 23:48.32; Coby McCaskey, 72nd place, 24:12.60; and Walter Poor, 73rd place, 24:16.66.
Quincy High School’s Thomas Hess won the meet in a time of 12:12.80.
In girls competition, Palmyra’s Lillian Cramlett took 35th place out of 57 runners in a time of 27:16.37, and Brooklynn Platt took 42nd place in a time of 29:20.79.
QHS’s Olivia Schuering won the meet in a time of 19:50.05, leading her team to a first-place finish.
