The PHS varsity softball team received the third seed in the Class 3, District 3 tournament to be held in Winfield Oct. 12-16.
The Lady Panthers (6-15) will start play at 1 p.m. Thursday against sixth-seeded Orchard Farm (4-19).
The winner will advance to the semifinals and play at 1:15 p.m. Saturday against the winner of Thursday’s game between second-seeded Wright City (9-10) and seventh-seeded STEAM Academy (13-4-1).
The other two quarterfinal games Thursday have top-seeded Winfield (14-10) taking on eighth-seeded St. Charles West (0-14), and fourth-seeded Lutheran-St. Charles (11-12) facing fifth-seeded Jennings (8-5-1).
The championship game is set for 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16.
