The PHS boys cross country team took 10th place out of 20 teams at the Brian T. Simpson Invitational meet hosted by Harrisburg in Columbia Oct. 7.
Running at the Gans Creek Cross Country facility, Palmyra scored 291 points. Elsberry won the meet with 54 points.
Jacob Barnes led Palmyra with a 24th place finish out of 166 competitors in a time of 18:06.3.
Also competing were: Carter Harper, 36th place, 18:43.0; Wesley Summers, 66th place, 19:55.8; Ashton Lovegreen 115th place, 21:40.3; Landon Jurado, 143rd place, 23:50.9; Coby McCaskey, 146th place, 24:33.3; and Aiden Lynn, 156th place, 25:47.1.
Alton’s Dydan Deckard won the meet in a time of 16:36.7.
In girls competition, Palmyra’s Lillian Cramlett finished in 65th place out of 97 runners in a time of 26:33.8 and Brooklyn Platt finished in 72nd place in a time of 27:31.2.
Palmyra will compete this Saturday at the Bowling Green Invitational.
Palmyra will compete at the Class 3, District 3 meet hosted by South Callaway in Mokane Saturday, Oct. 28.
Also competing are Blair Oaks, Bowling Green, California, Centralia, Cuba, Eldon, Fatima, Hallsville, Montgomery County, North Callaway, Orchard Farm, Owensville, Priory, Southern Boone, St. Charles West, St. Clair, St. Francis Borgia, St. James, Westminster, Whitfield, Winfield and Wright City.
