The Palmyra R-I Board of Education took the next step in preparing for the “no tax increase” bond issue during a special meeting last Tuesday.
The board approved hiring BLDD Architects, from Decatur, Ill., to produce pre-referendum and referendum work.
During their October meeting, the board approved putting the no tax increase bond issue before the voters for the April 2024 election.
The board will be prioritizing the projects on the district’s current five-year facilities plan in moving forward on the bond issue.
Items included on that plan are installing safe entrances, removing asbestos tile, replacing galvanized pipes, remodeling the northeast and south wings of the Palmyra High School among several other projects.
During a special meeting on Monday last week, the board also approved an updated substitute teacher list.
