The Marion County R-II boys held visiting North Shelby to 15 first-half points en route to a 57-43 win last Tuesday.
The Mustangs (2-0) jumped out to a 15-7 lead and went into halftime up by 12 before holding off the Raiders the rest of the way.
Joey Lagemann notched his second 20-plus scoring game with 20 points, sinking two of the team’s three treys and eight total field goals.
Wyatt Goldinger also broke into double figures, sinking five of six free throws and five field goals for 15 points.
Jackson Stewart added eight points to go along with a team-high seven rebounds.
Also scoring were Mason Wood, five; Porter Britt, five; Caden Stotts, three; and Wyatt Tuley, one.
As a team, the Mustangs sank 21 of 50 from the floor and 11 of 17 from the line while accumulating 25 rebounds, including 16 on defense.
Marion County also notched 10 steals, including four by Britt.
This week, the Mustangs were scheduled to travel to Community, Tuesday, and Bevier, Thursday.
Next week, they will compete in the Monroe City Tournament.
