With time running short, there are still no candidates filed for the three open positions on the Palmyra City Council.
The deadline for filing for the April 2 Municipal Election is Dec. 26 and nobody has signed up for any of the seats currently held by Ellen Goodwin (Ward 1), Patrick Barnes (Ward 2) and Earl Meyers (Ward 3).
All three have announced their intention not to run for re-election.
Persons interested in running for city council should file paperwork at a city hall during business hours.
Three persons have filed for Palmyra R-I School Board.
The three are hoping to fill the two open positions on the board, with filing starting Dec. 5 and running through Dec. 26.
Filing so far are Andrew Lehenbauer, an incumbent, along with Amber Gottman and Chris Turner.
Interested persons should file at the district office located in the high school during regular business hours.
The Marion County Ambulance District has two incumbents who have filed for the two open positions on the board of directors. The two are Dot Lake, representing Sub-District No. 6 and Branson Well, representing Subdistrict No. 2.
Interested persons should file at the district office located at 142 Jaycee Drive in Hannibal.
Elections will also be held April 2 for Marion County R-II school board and the Marion County Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors.
Two Marion County R-II School Board positions are up for election including those currently held by Jared Stewart and Joel Swisher.
Interested persons should file at the district office located at the school in Philadelphia.
Two positions on the Marion County SWCD Board of Supervisors are up for election, one from Territory 1 Union Township and the other from Territory 3 Warren and South River townships.
Qualified persons interested in filing should do so at the district office, located at 6465 Hwy. 168 Suite B, Palmyra.
