The PHS varsity boys and girls teams have received the top seeds in the 81st annual Tony Lenzini Basketball Tournament Jan. 15-20.
The Panthers will open play at 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15, while the Lady Panthers will play at 4:30 Monday.
The tournament queen crowning will be held during halftime of the 7:30 p.m. Tuesday game.
The Panthers will open play against eighth-seeded Mark Twain, with the winner advancing to the semifinals and playing at 6 p.m. Wednesday against the winner of Monday’s quarterfinal between fourth-seeded Monroe City and fifth-seeded Hannibal.
The other boys quarterfinal games Tuesday feature second-seeded Canton playing seventh-seeded Highland, and third-seeded Van-Far playing sixth-seeded Clark County.
The Lady Panthers open play against eighth-seeded Van-Far with the winner advancing to the semifinals and playing at 7:30 p.m. p.m. Wednesday against the winner of Monday’s quarterfinal between fourth-seeded Highland and fifth-seeded Monroe City.
The other two girls quarterfinal games Tuesday feature second-seeded Canton against seventh-seeded Mark Twain and third-seeded Hannibal against sixth-seeded Clark County.
The championship games will be played Saturday, Jan. 20, at 6:30 p.m. (girls) and 8 p.m. (boys).
