Nathan Avery Herold, 54, of Palmyra, Mo., passed away at 6:15 PM, Sunday, September 22, 2024, at his home.
Friends and family are invited to Nathan’s Life Celebration at a visitation was held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra, Mo.
A graveside service was held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra. Mr. Cole Sutter will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra.
Nathan was born August 25, 1970, in Ft. Madison, IA to Gerald C. “Butch” Herold and Anna Sue Edmunds Herold.
Survivors include his Mother, Anna Sue Herold, Brother, Ryan (Angela) Herold of Palmyra, sister, Leila (Monte) Burch of Palmyra, nieces and nephews, Breyahna Herold (Andrew Jeffries), Tegan Herold, Airabella Herold, Sierra (Aaron) Purcell, Zachary Burch (Emily Bramblett), and Mason Burch, great nieces and nephews, Amira, Cody, and Landon Purcell, and Cat, Hector and Dog, Bella.
Nathan was preceded in death by his Father, Gerald C. “Butch” Herold, Grandparents, Marvin and Althie Edmunds, and Gerald and Sue Herold, Uncle, Marvin J. Edmunds, and Niece, Savanah Herold.
Nathan, known as the “Bow Whisperer”, which was bestowed on him by his father, Butch, recognizing his innate talent for understanding the soul of a bow with just one pull. He worked many years at Butch’s Sports World serving countless enthusiasts.
Nathan’s zest for life was evident in his love for riding Suzuki motorcycles, a passion ignited in his youth as he delivered newspapers. His love for speed and thrill was matched by his fondness for his Corvette, a symbol of his free spirit. A fan of the heart-pumping excitement of horror and Rambo films, Nathan also found solace in the melodies of rock and roll, with bands like ZZ Top and Aerosmith providing the soundtrack to many of his cherished moments.
A man with a special place in his heart for animals, Nathan’s kindness extended to all, particularly to dogs and cats who were fortunate to cross his path. His simple joys included indulging in M&M candy, a sweet reflection of the colorful and joyful life he led. Nathan’s legacy is one of kindness, simplicity, and the roar of a motorcycle fading into the sunset.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Herold, Monte Burch, Cole Sutter, Jared Frost, Bill House, and Josh Edwards.
