CANTON, MO – Culver-Stockton College is excited to announce the opening of its 2024 Alumni Art Exhibition. This exhibition will showcase the remarkable talents of three distinguished alumni artists: Joshua McCurdy ‘08, Kyle Otten ‘08, and Mallory (Beard) Davidsmeyer ‘06. The Alumni Art Exhibition will be hosted from October 26 to November 22, 2024, with a special opening reception on October 26 from 3-5pm at the Mabee Gallery within the Herrick Center on the campus of C-SC. This event is free and open to the public.
Culver-Stockton College is proud to host an engaging afternoon as it celebrates the creativity of its alumni. The opening will feature artist talks at 3:30pm with Joshua McCurdy ‘08 and Mallory Davidsmeyer ‘06. During their talks, they will discuss their work and inspiration.
The exhibit will feature work from all three artists. McCurdy specializes in ceramics and will present an array of raku-fired pieces, including his notable works, “Salt Fired Jar #1 & 2” and “Horse Hair Raku #1.” He aims to highlight the interplay between functionality and artistic expression in his ceramics. Davidsmeyer will showcase her captivating watercolor piece, “My Garden Wildflowers,” which reflects her connection to nature and her creative journey. Otten will exhibit digital illustrations, including his popular works “Pirate Bay” and “Batman.” His innovative character designs have gained recognition, including published children’s books that are available for purchase on Amazon.
