Eva L. Parsons
Eva L. Parsons, 94, of St. Louis, Mo., formerly Palmyra, Mo., passed away at 1:08 AM, Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Delmar Gardens of Meramec Valley in Fenton, Mo.
Graveside services will be held at 12:30 PM, Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra. Pastor Dewayne Larenson will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra.
Eva was born April 14, 1930, in Monroe City, MO to Charles E. Lake and Barbara Smith Lake. She was married to Thomas L. Parsons on April 18, 1952, in Palmyra. He preceded her in death January 4, 1981.
Survivors include her children, Sandra (David) Bonastia of St. Louis, and Jill Parsons (Mark Haskins) of Kansas City, Mo., grandchildren, Jay (Emilie) Heller, Jaron Heller, Jolie Heller, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Gayle Parsons, brothers, Lloyd Lake, Clarence Lake, Cleve Lake, Rev. Steve Lake, and Charles Lake, sisters, Genevieve Bross, Zetta Lomax, Mary James, and Mildred Ellis.
Eva was a dedicated homemaker whose warmth and talents enriched the lives of those around her. Her home was always filled with the delightful aromas of her cooking and baking, a testament to her skills. She was also a talented seamstress, often fashioning beautiful garments and decorations for her family.
Eva’s love for the outdoors was evident in her meticulously tended vegetable and flower gardens. She found joy in canning the fruits of her labor, fishing in the quiet of nature, and simply being outside. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
In her later years, Eva’s adventurous spirit took her to Alaska to witness the awe-inspiring Northern Lights, as well as to sunny Florida, California, and the musical heart of Nashville. She had a fondness for classic country music, with Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard among her favorites. Eva’s legacy of love, creativity, and joy for life will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
