PALMYRA, Mo. — Palmyra High School students witnessed the devastating aftermath of a head-on collision firsthand Thursday, April 24.
Students walked up to a realistic scene staged in the school parking lot—a mock drunk-driving accident organized in collaboration with local emergency services. The simulation provided a sobering glimpse into the consequences of impaired driving, demonstrating the life-threatening risks of getting behind the wheel under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
The event aimed to raise awareness ahead of prom and graduation season, when teen driving fatalities historically spike. By experiencing the powerful visual impact of the simulation, organizers hope students will make safer choices and understand the lasting consequences one poor decision can bring.
