WOW! It has been a beautiful weather week this past week, this is my kind of weather. However, we sure could use some rain. Hopefully we will get some this week as the weather people are calling for some Monday thru Wednesday.
As many of you already know the new bridge is now open at the bottom of Hwy 6. The crew done a great job on the rebuilding of the bridge and it was done fairly quickly. It is very nice to drive across a smooth surfaced bridge.
The community was saddened by the passing of Sue Harris who passed away on Thursday morning May 15 at Maple Lawn Nursing Home where she had been a resident a very short time. Visitation will be held on Tuesday May 20 from 9:30-11:00 AM with the funeral service at 11:OO AM. These services will be held at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Palmyra. Sue, along with her family will be remembered by running the Palmyra Recreation Cafe in Palmyra for many years. She will also be remembered by making the best pies. Sue will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Congratulations to Makayli Todd and Kristofer Ruddell on the birth of their first baby. A baby girl, Haven Shae Ruddell was born on Thursday May 15th at 8:09 PM. She weighed 9 pounds 7 ounces and was 21 inches long. Maternal Grandparents are Brandon and Heather Todd and Paternal Grandparents are Nathan and Jennifer Wilson. Maternal Great Grandparents are John and Angie Poppe and Great Great Grandparents are CB and Caroline Keller.
Rowan Griesbaum, son of Jeremy and Amanda Griesbaum, celebrated his 9th birthday on Saturday evening at his home with a wienie roast. He was excited will all his gifts and enjoyed playing pickleball with his siblilngs and parents. Great grandparents Jim and Jane Church and I were in attendance for all of the fun.
Sunday afternoon with the help of my son and 3 youngest grandkids we put up the new chicken coop for my chicks so they now can enjoy being in a bigger area and outside. The kids also enjoyed playing with the chicks, feeding and watering them. I am just grateful that I am able to do all of these things this year versus last year where I was pretty much down with my knee surgeries etc.
A small reminder if you are still looking for veggie plants, flowers, etc. North River Plants and Produce is the place to go. They have a several varieties of tomato plants, herbs, peppers and many more kinds of veggies along with hanging baskets and flowers of different varieties. They are open Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10-5, Sunday is 12-5. Go out and see them they are great people and know their plants.
Glendon Griesbaum gave the message at Mt Olivet Church on Sunday morning. His message was about sin and how Jesus feels about sinning against others. Daren Griesbaum preached at Bethel Church on Sunday morning.
