It sounds like the temps are going to start warming up this week. Maybe Summer is getting closer. It is pretty dry and we sure could use some rain in the local area.
Many people have been asking when the Tastee Freeze will be opening for the season. Well, your wait is over, It opened on Sunday evening. Hours are from 4-9 PM on weekdays and 2-9 PM on weekends, closed on Tuesday’s.

Congratulations to Dr. Mitchell and Ashley Sutter of Hannibal MO, on the birth of a new baby boy. Graham Allen Sutter was born on Friday May 23, 2025 . He weighed 7 pounds 1 ounce and was 19 inches long. Graham is welcomed home by a big sister Amelia, who is excited and already loves her baby brother. Parental Grandparents are Roger and Diane Sutter of Taylor MO. Paternal Great Grandmother is Lois Sutter of Palmyra. Congratulations to the entire family.
Congratulations to Amy(Lewis) and Drew Maher of Tampa Florida on the birth of their first baby. A boy John Patrick (Jack) Maher was born on Friday May 30, 2025 in Florida. He weighed 7 pounds and is 20 inches long. Mom and baby Jack is both doing great. Maternal Grandparents are Shelley Lewis and the late John Lewis of Palmyra. Maternal Great Grandparents are Virgil and Marcia Clow of Palmyra and late Gadget and Dee Lewis.
Paternal Grandparents are Jim and Missy (McCook) Liermann of Tampa Florida. Congratulations to the entire family on the birth of lil Jack Maher.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Austin Newell, (Olivia Dougherty), who were married at The Ritz-Carleton, Amelia Island, Florida. Olivia is daughter of Tony and Kate Dougherty and granddaughter of Jack and Gail Sharkey of Taylor MO. Many friends and relatives traveled to be in attendance for this beautiful occasion.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Sawyer Powers on their nuptial’s on Saturday May 31 on the Powers farm. Mrs. Powers is Elizabeth (Lizzy) Bimson, daughter of Brad and Barb Bimson on Taylor MO. Sawyer’s parents are Tim and Tina Powers and the grandson of Sonny and Mary Powers of Taylor MO.
Sympathy is extended to the family of Mrs. Edna Lucke who passed away on Thursday May 22 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy IL. Her children are Teri (Nik) Yager, John (Karen) Lucke and Robert (Gina) Lucke. A Memorial Service was held on Saturday May 31 at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel.
