Progress is being made on the historic downtown mural restoration. Students are working on the project this summer, with an expected completion this fall.
The City of Palmyra was awarded the Spring Into Action Grant through the Mark Twain Regional Councils of Government back in April of 2024. As the project was originally supposed to be completed in October of 2024, due to the delays with the upgrades at the high school, the project was delayed but is still in progress to be completed by Fall 2025.
The panels that are completed look really good and the students are doing a remarkable job on painting and getting the history put in place.
“I talked to Steven Walker,” Palmyra Mayor Rusty Adrain said, “Since they are modifying the high school, they are working on it during the summer to be able to completed in the fall by October.”
