The June 7 Show-Me-Select (SMS) Bred Heifer Sale at F&T Livestock Market drew strong regional demand and solid prices, capping off a successful spring sale season. A total of 182 head of bred heifers sold for an average of $3,926.
100 AI-bred heifers averaged $3,950
82 natural service-bred heifers averaged $3,897
Buyers from Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, and Iowa participated both in-person and online via DV Auction, demonstrating the continued reach and reputation of the SMS program.
“The consistent quality of Show-Me-Select heifers continues to attract repeat buyers and bring new ones to the table,” said Brenda Schreck, MU Extension Livestock Specialist. “These heifers are developed under strict protocols which helps producers lower risk and add value to their cow herds.”

Joplin: 124 head averaged $4,010
Palmyra: 182 head averaged $3,926
Vienna: 58 head averaged $3,917
Fruitland: 85 head averaged $3,745
Farmington: 153 head averaged $3,689
The Show-Me-Select Replacement Heifer Program, coordinated by University of Missouri Extension, focuses on improving genetics, reproductive success, and long-term herd profitability through education and science-based management strategies.
