Two Injured in Collision North of Hannibal

HANNIBAL, Mo. — A LaBelle woman and a juvenile passenger were injured Wednesday evening, June 25, in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 61, approximately two miles north of Hannibal.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at 6:38 p.m. when a 2012 Ford Fusion, driven by a 17-year-old male from Hannibal, attempted to cross US 61 and struck a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix in the front left side. The Pontiac was traveling westbound at the time of the collision.
The driver of the Grand Prix, a 31-year-old woman from LaBelle, and a juvenile female passenger, age 0, both sustained moderate injuries. They were transported by the Marion County Ambulance District to Hannibal Regional Hospital.
Both vehicles sustained extensive damage and were towed from the scene by Heartland Towing and Ace Elder Canton, respectively.
The teen driver of the Ford Fusion was reportedly wearing a seatbelt and was uninjured in the crash.
The accident was investigated by MSGT Henry #1372 of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, with assistance from the Marion County Sheriff’s Department, Marion County Ambulance District, and Hannibal Rural Fire Department.
