LOIS marie sutter
Lois Marie Sutter, 98, passed away November 27th, 2025, at Adams Pointe Assisted Living in Quincy, IL. She was born November 29th, 1926, in West Bend, Iowa to Albert Nathaniel and Elizabeth Banwart Wuthrich. She later moved to Pulaski, IA with her parents and siblings. She went to Pulaski school and graduated from Pulaski High School in 1945.
On June 25th, 1950, Lois was united in marriage to James Sutter at the Pulaski Apostolic Christian Church. The couple made their home in Taylor, MO, where they raised their family. James passed away Sept 16th, 2008.
Lois spent time making many quilts, serving as a 4-H Leader and teaching Sunday school. She went to nursing school in Quincy, IL and graduated in August 1973 and went on to work for Blessing Hospital. Lois spent most of her life as a homemaker, this is what she enjoyed most, caring for her husband and children who she loved very much. Above all she loved her Lord and Savior and was an active member of the Apostolic Christian Church of Taylor.
She is survived by her children, Randy (Pam) Sutter of Goodyear, AZ, Vicki (Roger) Steffen of Rensselaer, IN, Penny (Eric) Knochel of Taylor, MO, Kim (Vonette) Sutter of Taylor, MO, daughter-in-law, Kris Sutter Palmyra, MO, thirteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren, brother, Bill (Gloria) Wuthrich of Kirksville, MO, sister, Mary Elizabeth Gramm of Gridley, IL sisters-in-law, Shirley Wuthrich of Bloomfield, IA, Marjorie and Charlene Sutter both of Quincy, IL and Bob (Marilyn) Frieden of Nevada who was raised with James and his siblings.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, James A.E. Sutter, granddaughter, Annalynn Knochel, twin infant siblings, three brothers, Robert, Russell and Joel Wuthrich, sister, Delores Kiefer, brothers-in-law, Bob Kiefer, John Gramm, Bill Heimer, Bob Pohl, Gerald and Richard Sutter, sisters-in-law, Deanie, Karoline and Ernestine Wuthrich, Naomi Heimer Moser and Joyce Pohl.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Dec 4th, 2025, at the Apostolic Christian Church in Taylor.
Interment will be in the Apostolic Church Cemetery in Taylor, Missouri. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM – 10:45 AM before the funeral.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Palmyra Food Pantry where Lois volunteered.
Pallbearers will be Benjamin Knochel, Rick Knochel, Jarod Steffen, Brian Sutter, Jimmy Sutter, Zachary Sutter, Wade Sutter and Bennett Sutter.
The Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra is in charge of the arrangements.
