Taylor News

Well, we had some very beautiful days this past week with highs that ran in the upper 60’s and
then by the weekend it turned off cold like February should be. I don’t know about you but I
am really tired of everyday having wind to deal with. Hopefully March will come in like a lamb
with some really nice temps.
This week is National FFA week. All area schools will be doing special things in honor of their
FFA clubs. Palmyra will be hosting a Supporters’ Breakfast on Thursday morning February
26th starting at 6-8 AM in the Palmyra Highs School Ag Building. Make sure you go out and
support the PHS FFA Organization.
Congratulations to all of the recipients of the Lewis and Marion County Cattleman
Scholarships. There was a great group of students who applied and were honored to receive
the scholarships. There were 36 who were presented with the scholarships on Saturday night,
February 21 at the America Legion Hall. The young adults were students that were graduating
high school this year up to Seniors in college. The total in attendance for the meal and silent
and live auction was approximately 500 local residents of Lewis and Marion County.
This year my oldest granddaughter Natalie presented her Pawpaw’s (Ralph Griesbaum)
scholarship, she read the speech and she along with me and my oldest grandson, Reed. Reed
also was honored to be able to auction off the last few items of the live auction.
I enjoyed attending the St. Dominics School Fish Fry on Friday night with Jeremy, Amanda,
Rowan, Maple, and Oren Griesbaum and Mike and Sue Haddix. St. Dominics is where the 3
youngest grandkids go to school. There was a great crowd in attendance and the food was
great.
If you want to go out and enjoy a great fish fry on Friday night, LaGrange Lions Club will be
hosting their Lenton Fish Fry on Friday March 6. This will be held at the Lions Club in LaGrange
MO. It is always a great meal and nice fellowship.
I had the opportunity to go and watch the Palmyra Middle School’s Drama students preform
the play Frozen Jr. on Friday morning while subbing at the PES. The entire student body was
taken to the PMS to watch the play. The middle school students done a fantastic job and put in
a lot of hard work to learn their parts, dances and the costumes. A big shout out to them. I
totally enjoyed watching.
Congratulations to the four PHS Wrestling Team boys who finished in the top of their respective
weight classed at Saturday’s Class 1 District 3 tournament at Lafayette County High School to
clinch a spot in the state tournament. The boys are Bear Lorenson, Tyler Spicknall, Emmett
Lorenson and Ace Harper. Way to go guys and best of luck at state.
To finish up Love Month celebrations at Mt Olivet Church, Sunday after the service we enjoyed
a carry-in lunch. There was a good group in attendance that stayed for the great meal and the
fellowship.

Happy birthday to Taylor Waters on Thursday February 26th.

Happy birthday to Andrew Bimson on Monday March 2nd.

Happy birthday to Courtney Yackley on Tuesday March 3rd.
