Big Fourth Inning Dooms Marion County in Loss to Mark Twain

Marion County saw a competitive game slip away Friday as Mark Twain used a massive fourth inning to pull away for an 18-3 win.
The Mustangs struck first in the opening inning when Paden Olson doubled and drove in a run to give Marion County an early lead.
After falling behind, Marion County responded in the third inning to briefly regain control.
Nathan Wright brought in a run on a groundout, and Quentin Click followed by drawing a walk with the bases loaded to push another run across,
putting the Mustangs back on top.
Mark Twain answered in the bottom of the third to take a 5-3 lead, then broke the game open in the fourth inning with a string of hits and walks that led to 13 runs.
Olson took the loss on the mound, working three innings while striking out seven. Despite the final score, Marion County showed defensive consistency, playing error-free baseball. Wright led the effort in the field with six defensive plays.
At the plate, Olson and Wright each drove in a run for the Mustangs.
