Hathaway, Anderson Lead Marion County Efforts At Palmyra Open
PALMYRA — Palmyra High School hosted the Palmyra Open on April 9, and Marion County athletes turned in several solid performances, highlighted by strong finishes in the hurdles and field events on the girls side.
Kennedy Hathaway led the way with a fifth-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles (17.93) and added an eighth-place showing in the triple jump (8.91m), giving Marion County a pair of top-10 finishes. In the throwing events, Alivia Anderson also stood
out, placing fifth in the shot put (9.6m) and sixth in the discus (28.4m).
On the track, Ella Dougherty recorded a seventh-place finish in the 1600-meter run (6:29.83), while Matty Cunningham contributed in both distance events. On the boys side, Averi Williams paced Marion County with a ninth-place finish in the 100-meter dash.
