April showers bring May flowers as the saying goes; We have had some well-needed
rainfall this past week.
I had a couple inches here at my house, there were different amounts around the local area, all was welcomed. The grass has really greened up and the flowering trees have started to bloom out, love this time of the year. Everything is so fresh and new.
I am looking so forward to planting my garden and some flowers if the weather will ever stay above 50 degrees.
The Fabius Community House is having its annual Spring Hog Roast on Saturday Aprill 25, 2026. Serving time is from 4-7 PM. This is a fundraiser for the swing set/ playground equipment. Carry-outs are available or you can of course dine in. Mark your calendars for this annual event.
Good luck to all of the local/area FFA teams who will be attending state convention this
upcoming week in Columbia, MO. This is a great experience for all the young students
and a great learning opportunity.
Support local, North River Greenhouse is open for all of your flower and garden needs. They are closed on Monday’s and Wednesday’s. Vicki and Blaine are there to help you with all your needs and questions.
Exciting news for Willow and Poppy, they are moving across the street next to Mandyish. This is a larger building so Ann can carry more beautiful items.
Willow and Poppy will be open April 23-25 in the current location, closed April16-18
to move in to new location. Open in new location on April 30, May 1 & 2. GO support local, Ann has so many cute items in her store.
Spring brings morels/mushrooms, I have seen and heard of numerous people having good luck finding these in the local wooded areas. I personally have not been out, but I know of ones have a good time finding these tasty treats.
Update on my mom, she is doing better and has 3 good days in a row. She will start Cardio Rehab this upcoming week and we are in all hopes this will give her more strength.
It was a bittersweet weekend for my family; Aunt Judy Million sold her home on Fortune Ave and all the contents of the home. Many memories in that house will our families. I wish the new owner, Drew Begley ( son of John Paul and Susie Begley) the very best and welcome him back into his old neighborhood.
Please keep Mt Olivet Church Paster Brian Eckhardt in your prayers, he has been a patient for the past several days, undergoing some tests.
Mt Olivet Church celebrated their 2026 class Seniors on Sunday, April 12. They enjoyed
breakfast, fellowship and taking about their future plans. The 2 Seniors were Janie Triplett (daughter of Kim and the late Keith Triplett) from Palmyra High School
and Dylan Stone (son of Toni Haught/Ronnie and Jeff Stone) from Highland High School.
